PERK BREAK

The Only Difference Between A Good Day And A Bad Day Is Your Attitude.

Hello Friends!  Just a note to let you know that I will be taking a break from reporting the “perks of having cancer” for awhile.   At 9:00 a.m tomorrow, January 24th, I will be bidding farewell to my left breast and associated lymph nodes, just four days before my 45th birthday.  There’s nothing perky about that! (The breast I mean, it hasn’t been perky since my early thirties).  I am sure that during my recovery I will discover lots more perks of having cancer, so stay tuned.

I ask you to keep me, and my loved ones in your prayers as I undergo the next phase of my cancer treatments.  God Bless.

You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow. I shared the same journey in July when I said goodbye to both of my girls. I always tell people, when they ask me how I am feeling, I tell them, “better than yesterday but not as good as tomorrow.” I hope you have many of those days as you recover. Take it slow and “yes!” there will be some funny discoveries along the way – really, there will be! Peace & blessings to you.

Having been through the same surgery (left breast also) I know what you are facing. I was so nervous but it was not too bad at all and I still feel the same. You will be fine but will pray for you too :)

    Hi Florence,

You will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow morning and these coming days, just as you have been for some time now. I’ll be sending all the positive energy I can muster tomorrow morning as you go through your surgery and will continue to check in with you. Thinking of you and your family. God bless.

Never mind that left breast and nodes. I remember my friend telling me that her husband told her that it helped her shoot her bow and arrow more directly without that obstacle on her left side. My husband was so supportive when letting my left side go too. Good thing to know is it still feels things and like they say about missing limbs, our breasts are still missed by our bodies, so continue to touch and stretch and acknowledge it’s rights as a part of your life. All the best wishes for your swift recovery tomorrow. Carina

Florence I have been following your blog. Your are so positive about your journey. I really admire you. I have been praying for you everyday when I pray for myself. St. Peregrine is the patron saint of cancer patients. I have a medal and prayer that was given to me by a priest while I was in the hospital recovering from a hysterectomy. I will pray for a fast and safe recovery for you from your surgery. Can’t wait to read your very inspiring comments in the future. Good luck and God bless you.
